Drizzle Studios Pvt. Ltd. (“Company”), which owns and operates the mrmr platform (the “Platform”, “We”, “Us” or “Our), respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data.
MRMR (“mrmr”, “Platform”, “We”, “Us”, or “Our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how We collect, use, store, disclose, transfer, and otherwise process your personal data when you use: our website (“Website”), our mobile application (“App”), and any related features, content, or services (collectively, the “Services”).
This Privacy Policy is issued in compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”), the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 (“Intermediary Rules”), and other applicable Indian laws (collectively, “Applicable Law”).
By creating an account, accessing, or continuing to use the Platform after providing your consent, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
We have kept this policy simple and accessible so you can clearly understand how your personal data is used.
- SCOPE
- This Privacy Policy governs your access to and use of the Platform and its associated features, whether accessed through the App, Website, mobile browser, desktop browser, progressive web application (PWA), embedded links, integrations, APIs, third-party logins, plug-ins, widgets, QR code access, invitation links, referral links, cached versions, or any other digital medium now known or later developed (collectively, “Access Modes”).
- This Privacy Policy also applies when you:
- access the Platform as a guest user (where permitted),
- access the Platform through third-party devices or shared devices,
- interact with the Platform via push notifications, SMS, emails, or customer support,
- interact with content posted on the Platform through external sharing features,
- access or view content that may be available through search engines, caches, or third-party previews.
- By using the Platform through any Access Mode, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy.
The Platform is a community-based social networking platform designed for people living in the same locality or region to connect, share updates, and interact with one another.
When you create an account and engage on the Platform, your profile information including your name, username, display picture, location/locality indicator, and any posts, comments, reactions, or other content you choose to share, may be visible to other users in your community, depending on the privacy settings selected by you.
As the Platform is designed for social interaction, you should be careful about what you post, as the updates may be reflected in your feed and visible to other users, depending upon the privacy setting specifically chosen by you.
- The Platform functions as a technology-based community platform and acts as an “intermediary” within the meaning of the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Intermediary Rules.
We do not control, endorse, verify, or guarantee the accuracy, legality, authenticity, or reliability of any content posted, shared, transmitted, or displayed by Users (“User Content”), and shall not be responsible or liable for any User Content except to the extent required under Applicable Law.
The Platform does not initiate the transmission of User Content, select the receiver of transmission, or modify the information contained in such transmission, except as may be necessary for compliance with Applicable Law, enforcement of Platform policies, or technical operations.
- Certain interactions on the Platform may involve integrations with third-party service providers, analytics tools, APIs, cloud hosting partners, and communication vendors used to support Platform features. We require such third parties to process your personal data only as per our instructions, and to implement reasonable security safeguards. However, where you independently interact with third-party platforms, links, or services, their processing will be governed by their own privacy policies.
- By creating an account and/or using the Platform, you provide your consent for the collection, storage, use, disclosure, and processing of your personal data in accordance with this Privacy Policy, except where processing is permitted under Applicable Law without consent.
You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us at mrmr@mrmr.social or using in-app settings (where available). However, if you withdraw consent or disable permissions necessary for core functionality such as location access, identity verification, or messaging features, We may no longer be able to provide you full access to the Platform or certain Services.
Withdrawal of consent will not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before such withdrawal.
- INFORMATION COLLECTED BY THE PLATFORM
- When you choose to register on the Platform, We will collect certain information that qualifies as “Personal Data” under the DPDP Act. Some information must be collected mandatorily to create and operate your account, while certain information is collected only with your explicit consent. The information which you provide mandatorily includes:
- Mobile number and/or e-mail address: For account creation, OTP verification, authentication, fraud prevention, customer support, and communications relating to Platform services.
- Name and/or username: For identification on the Platform and enabling interactions within communities and local groups.
- Location: For assigning you to relevant neighborhoods, displaying nearby content, enabling access to locality-based communities and features, and enabling discovery of other users within your region.
We may collect your location through device GPS (if permitted), Wi-Fi signals, Bluetooth proximity, IP address-based geo-location, device and network metadata, or other location inference methods.
- Date of Birth / Age: For eligibility checks, compliance with Applicable Law, and/or display on your profile (depending on your settings).
- The information which you may choose to additionally provide includes:
- Profile Picture: for the purposes of displaying on your user profile.
- Gender: for the purposes of displaying on your user profile.
- Language preference(s): to personalize your experience on the Platform.
- Interests, bio or profile description: for display on your profile and personalization.
- Description of Self: for display on your profile.
- Relationship Status: for display on your profile.
- Device permissions
We may request access to certain information on your device to optimize your use and access of the Platform (such as camera, microphone, photo library, notifications, and location).
You may restrict access through your device settings. No device permission will be accessed without your explicit consent. Denial of permissions may limit your ability to access certain Platform features.
- Behavioral and usage data
We collect information about how you interact with the Platform, such as the content you view, engage with, and share. This behavioral information helps us improve your experience by personalizing your feed and making the Platform more relevant.
- Profile Verification Information
To enhance trust and maintain the integrity of the Platform, We may require certain personal data for profile verification. This may include your mobile number, selfies, government-issued identification, or other documents required to confirm your identity.
Verification information is collected and stored solely for verification, fraud prevention, and compliance purposes, and is not disclosed publicly except where required by Applicable Law.
- Location Information
The Platform collects and processes location information to provide locality-based communities and to ensure safety and integrity of the Platform. Location may be collected through:
- GPS location (precise, if enabled),
- Wi-Fi access points,
- Bluetooth signals,
- nearby cell towers,
- device sensor data,
- IP address-based approximate location,
- system settings such as time zone and locale.
Even if you disable GPS permissions, the Platform may still detect your approximate location through IP address or network signals to:
- enforce location-based eligibility,
- prevent misuse and fraudulent activity,
- detect suspicious logins,
- comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
You may control precise location sharing through device settings. However, disabling location access may impact Platform features.
- Information collected automatically during use
The Platform collects information automatically while you interact with the Platform to improve services and personalize content, including:
- Content you post or interact with, including text, images, audios, and videos;
- Interactions with other users, including chat messages;
- Device identifiers, IP address, cookies, browser activity, and device signals;
- Usage metrics, including time spent on the Platform and content you have interacted with;
- Crash logs and error reports.
- Contact Syncing
With your explicit consent, the Platform may access and store your contacts to provide notifications when your contacts join the Platform. Only the contact’s name and phone number are collected. You may stop syncing or delete your contacts at any time via Platform settings. We do not message your contacts unless you explicitly choose to invite them.
- Third-Party Service Information
When you link your mrmr account to third-party services, including social media accounts, you provide explicit consent for the Platform to collect identifiers associated with the linked service (such as username, account ID, and profile information) and any personal information you choose to share.
This information will be used solely to enable the linked service features and improve your user experience. You may revoke this consent at any time by unlinking the third-party service.
- Device Data “Device Data” includes without limitation:
- Device attributes (OS, hardware/software versions, battery level, storage, browser type).
- Device operations (foreground/background activity).
- Identifiers (unique identifiers, device IDs, advertising IDs).
- Device signals (Bluetooth signals, Wi-Fi access points, beacons, cell towers).
- Data from device settings (GPS, camera, photos).
- Network and connections (operator/ISP, language, time zone, IP address, connection speed).
- Media (images/videos/audio accessed only with consent).
- Surveys and Other Contributions
We may collect additional information when you provide feedback, modify preferences, respond to surveys, submit comments, or communicate with us.
- Customer Support Information
When you contact support, We may collect personal data necessary to address your inquiry and maintain records of your request.

- Log Data / Access Logs
When you access or use the Platform through any Access Mode, We automatically collect system-generated logs, including:
- login and logout timestamps,
- IP address and approximate location derived therefrom,
- device ID / advertising ID,
- cookie identifiers,
- referral URLs,
- clickstream activity,
- session duration,
- server logs, audit logs, and authentication logs.
Such information is collected for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, compliance, and Platform integrity purposes.
- HOW MRMR USES YOUR INFORMATION
- The Platform uses the personal data collected from you to operate, maintain, administer, improve, and secure the Platform, provide services and features, ensure Platform integrity, enable user interaction, prevent misuse, and deliver a safe and personalized experience.
- Account creation, identification and profile management
Information collected during registration, profile creation, and continued usage enables the Platform to create, verify, maintain, and manage your account, authenticate logins, prevent impersonation, ensure accurate identity-based interactions, and enable you to access the Platform features.
You acknowledge and agree that the Platform is designed as a community-based platform for users within a locality, and accordingly your profile information (including your name, profile picture, locality, and other profile details you choose to provide) may be visible to other users of the Platform, depending on your settings and the nature of the feature you are using.
The Platform does not support anonymous usage, and users are expected to provide accurate and lawful information. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts containing misleading, false, impersonating, or incomplete information, or accounts used for abusive or unlawful purposes.
- Communications and service administration
The Platform uses your information to communicate with you for operational purposes, including responding to inquiries, resolving complaints, providing customer support, sending service-related announcements, updates, transactional communications, security alerts, and administrative messages.
You acknowledge that certain communications are necessary for the functioning of the Platform and cannot be opted out of, including security alerts, account notifications, and legal notices.
- Contact syncing and connection suggestions
Where you explicitly consent to contact syncing, the Platform may access and process your device contacts to help you connect with people you know, identify contacts already registered on the Platform, send invitations (where applicable), and provide connection suggestions.
You confirm that you have the authority and consent required to share such contact information with us and that you will not upload or share contact information unlawfully.
- Marketing, promotions and outreach
The Platform may use your personal data to send promotional communications, marketing messages, surveys, and special offers, only where you have provided consent, or where such communications are otherwise permitted under Applicable Law.
You may opt out of marketing communications at any time through the Platform settings or by using the unsubscribe mechanism, however service-related communications will continue as necessary.
- Fraud prevention, abuse detection and enforcement
The Platform uses your information to detect, prevent, investigate, and respond to suspicious activity, fraud, impersonation, harassment, abuse, spam, cyber threats, and unauthorized access, and to enforce our Terms of Use, community guidelines, safety rules, and other policies.
We may use automated tools, manual review, risk scoring mechanisms, and device-based identifiers to protect the Platform and its users.
- Location-based services and community mapping
The Platform is designed to operate on a location-based community model, and accordingly location data is processed as a core feature of the Platform.
We may collect and process your location information (including approximate location derived from GPS, Wi-Fi signals, Bluetooth signals, cell tower triangulation, device settings, and/or IP address) for the purposes of:
- assigning you to relevant neighborhoods/local communities;
- displaying local updates, posts, events and discussions;
- showing other users within your region or community;
- preventing misuse of the Platform, including fraudulent location spoofing;
- ensuring Platform integrity and safety;
- enforcing eligibility restrictions for certain communities;
- providing location-specific recommendations and features.
You acknowledge and agree that location information is essential for Platform functionality, and disabling location access may restrict or prevent your access to core services of the Platform.
The Platform may display your general locality or neighborhood to other users but does not intentionally display your precise GPS coordinates publicly unless you choose to actively share such information through a specific feature.
- Cookies, analytics and device-based processing
The Platform may use cookies, SDKs, pixels, log files, and similar technologies to:
- authenticate users and maintain sessions;
- analyze usage patterns;
- improve platform performance and user experience;
- prevent fraud and ensure security;
- customize content and recommendations.
You acknowledge that disabling cookies or device permissions may limit Platform functionality.
- Automated moderation and review
The Platform may use a combination of automated tools, algorithmic filtering, artificial intelligence systems, and human review to monitor activity, detect spam, prevent fraud, enforce safety protocols, detect prohibited content, and ensure compliance with our Terms of Use and community guidelines.
Accounts or content that violate Platform policies may be restricted, blocked, removed, demonetized, hidden, or terminated, with or without notice, depending on severity.
Where required under Applicable Law, users may contact to raise concerns or contest moderation decisions. However, the Platform is not obligated to reinstate any content or account that violates law or policy.
- Use of third-party service providers
Certain personal data may be shared with third-party vendors, consultants, hosting providers, analytics providers, cloud service providers, payment gateways, identity verification vendors, or customer support tools, strictly for the purpose of delivering Platform services.
All such third-party service providers are required to implement appropriate security safeguards and process personal data in compliance with Applicable Law and contractual obligations.
- Legal compliance and protection of rights
The Platform may use or disclose your information where necessary to comply with Applicable Law, enforceable governmental requests, court orders, lawful investigations, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of the Platform, its users, and the public.

- User-Generated Content and Intermediary Processing
The Platform enables users to create, upload, publish, transmit, store, share, or otherwise make available content, including but not limited to posts, images, messages, comments, videos, audio, location tags, reactions, and profile information (“User Content”). You acknowledge and agree that:
- User Content is generated by users, and the Platform acts as an intermediary under Applicable Law;
- the Platform does not endorse, guarantee, or assume responsibility for User Content uploaded or shared by users;
- the Platform does not guarantee confidentiality of User Content shared publicly or shared with other users; and
- you are solely responsible for ensuring that your User Content is lawful, accurate, non-infringing, non-defamatory, and does not violate any third-party rights.
The Platform processes User Content only to the extent reasonably required for:
- enabling Platform functionality and display of content;
- delivering content to intended recipients based on user settings;
- hosting, storing, transmitting and making content accessible;
- content moderation, trust and safety review, fraud detection and abuse prevention;
- enforcing Platform Terms, community guidelines, and internal policies;
- responding to complaints, takedown notices, and user reports;
- complying with lawful directions, legal requests, and Applicable Law.
The Platform reserves the right (but not the obligation) to remove, restrict, disable, or block access to any User Content or user account that violates Applicable Law, Platform policies, or third-party rights, or that may expose the Platform or its users to harm or legal risk.
Users are advised to exercise caution and discretion before sharing any personal, sensitive, confidential, or location-identifying information on the Platform.
- WHEN WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION
We may share your personal data only as described in this Privacy Policy and in accordance with Applicable Law. We do not sell your personal data.
- Sharing with Other Users (What You Choose to Share)
The Platform is built to connect people and communities. Depending on your settings and how you use the Platform, other users may be able to see information such as:
- your profile details (including username, photos, and bio);
- your posts, comments, reactions, and community activity;
- messages you send to other users;
- your general location/community area (as enabled through Platform features).
Please remember: if you share content publicly or with other users, they may be able to copy, save, forward, download, screenshot, record, or re-share it. We cannot control what other users do with information you choose to share.
- Sharing with Service Providers
We work with trusted third-party service providers to operate the Platform and deliver our Services (for example: cloud hosting, storage, analytics, customer support, communications, payment processing (if applicable), fraud prevention, verification, and security).
These service providers may process your personal data only to provide services to us and are required to:
- follow our instructions,
- keep your data confidential,
- maintain appropriate security safeguards, and
- comply with Applicable Law.
- Sharing for Safety, Moderation and Enforcement
We may access, review, and share limited information internally with our trust & safety teams, moderators, and authorized personnel to:
- prevent spam, fraud, and abuse;
- enforce our Terms of Use and community guidelines;
- investigate reports and complaints;
- Sharing with Law Enforcement and Authorities

- comply with Applicable Law or legal process;

The Platform enables users to create, upload, share, and transmit content (“User Content”). The Platform acts as an intermediary under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and applicable rules. We do not control User Content posted by users and are not responsible for it, except where liability is imposed under Applicable Law.
We may remove or restrict access to User Content or accounts where:
- required by Applicable Law,
- directed by a competent authority, or
- the content violates our Terms of Use, community guidelines, or safety policies.
- USER RIGHTS ON MRMR
We want to ensure you are empowered regarding your personal data. As per law, you have the right to:
- Right to Access / Information: You may request confirmation of whether we process your personal data and request access to a summary of such processing, including categories of personal data processed and purposes. You may also request details of third parties with whom your personal data has been shared, where applicable.
- Right to Correction and Updating: You may request correction or updating of inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
- Right to Erasure (Deletion): You may request deletion of your personal data, subject to Applicable Law and retention requirements.
- Right to Withdraw Consent: You may withdraw consent for processing at any time. Withdrawal may impact Platform functionality.
- Right to Data Copy / Export: You may request a copy of your personal data in a format reasonably practicable, subject to Applicable Law, technical feasibility, and security considerations.
- Right to Opt-Out of Marketing: You may unsubscribe from promotional emails or notifications at any time.
- Right to Nominate: You may nominate one or more individuals to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity in accordance with Applicable Law.
- Cookie Controls: You may delete or manage cookies via browser/device settings.
- Right to Know About Automated Processing: You may request information about the existence of automated processing used for moderation, fraud detection, recommendation systems, and personalization, subject to reasonable limitations and security concerns.
To exercise your rights, you may mrmr@mrmr.social. Requests will be handled in accordance with Applicable Law and Platform procedures.
- DELETION AND RETENTION OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA
- You may update, correct, or delete information from your account at any time by accessing profile settings.
- You have rights under Applicable Law including rectification, erasure, access, withdrawal of consent, grievance redressal, and nomination.
- We will process requests within timelines prescribed under Applicable Law. Where no statutory timeline is prescribed, we aim to respond within 30 (thirty) days.
- The Platform retains personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary to:
- provide Services,
- comply with Applicable Law,
- enforce Terms of Use,
- resolve disputes,
- prevent fraud,
- maintain audit trails, security logs, and access records.
Retention may extend beyond account deletion where required for legal compliance, enforcement, or security.
- The Platform maintains records of consents provided by users, including the text of the consent, the date and time of consent, and the means by which consent was given.
- Your data may be retained in the following circumstances:
- To comply with Applicable Law;
- To maintain evidence of compliance with legal obligations;
- To resolve disputes;
- For legitimate security and fraud prevention purposes.
- Even after deletion, copies of your information may remain where previously shared with other users or stored by third parties. The Platform is not responsible for such retention.
- ACCOUNT CLOSURE
- If you close your account, your personal data will generally stop being visible to others within 24 hours.
- We generally delete closed account information within 90 days, except where retention is necessary to comply with Applicable Law, law enforcement requests, regulatory requirements, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or security.
- Information you have shared with others may remain visible after account closure. Cached copies may persist externally until refreshed. The Platform shall not be liable for the retention of any content by third parties, including other users, third-party applications, search engines, caches, backups, or archived pages.
- SECURITY OF YOUR INFORMATION
- Your personal data is maintained by us in electronic form. We implement reasonable security safeguards including managerial, technical, operational, and physical security measures consistent with industry standards and Applicable Law.
- We restrict access to personal data to authorized employees, contractors, and agents on a need-to-know basis.
- We conduct reasonable due diligence of third-party service providers, including reviewing their security controls, confidentiality commitments, and compliance practices. However, We cannot guarantee the acts or omissions of third-party service providers beyond contractual and legal safeguards.
- No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.
- Data transfers are encrypted where feasible (TLS encryption).
- In the event of a personal data breach, We will take immediate steps to contain and remediate the breach and will notify affected users and/or any competent authority, where required under Applicable Law.
- MINORS
- Users must be at least 18 years of age to use the Platform. The Platform does not knowingly permit persons under 18 years of age to register or use the Services.
- If We become aware that We have collected personal data of a child, We will delete such personal data without undue delay.
- The Platform does not permit behavioral tracking, targeted advertising, or profiling of children. If any child personal data is detected, the Platform will take steps to disable access and delete such information without undue delay.
- PERSONAL DATA OF OTHERS
In some situations, you may provide personal data of other individuals (family, friends, contacts). If you provide such personal data, you represent and warrant that you have obtained lawful authority and necessary consent for such personal data to be collected, used, and disclosed as set out in this Privacy Policy.
- LINKS TO OTHER WEBSITES
Our Services may contain links to other websites not operated by us. If you click a third-party link, you will be directed to that third-party site. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of such third parties. We shall not be responsible for any data collection, tracking, or processing carried out by such third-party websites, services, or platforms.
- COMMUNICATIONS FROM US
We may send service-related announcements when necessary (such as platform maintenance, security alerts, policy updates, or administrative communications). You may not opt out of such service-related communications.
- POLICIES FOR POSTING
- The Platform offers users the opportunity to post and share content. Users must ensure all content aligns with our community guidelines and Applicable Law. The following content is prohibited:
- Offensive content (hate speech, harassment, threats).
- Sexual content (explicit material, nudity, exploitation).
- Discriminatory content.
- Communal harm or dangerous content.
- Any content required to be removed under Applicable Law.
- The Platform reserves the right to take down or restrict access to content in accordance with Applicable Law including the Intermediary Rules, as amended from time to time.
- REVIEW PROCESS
All posts may be reviewed for compliance with Platform policies and Applicable Law. Content violating policies may be removed or restricted.
- CONSEQUENCES OF POLICY VIOLATION
Users violating policies may face penalties including content removal and temporary or permanent suspension of accounts.
- CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be notified through prominent notice on the Platform and/or via email/in-app notification. Where required under Applicable Law, We will seek fresh consent for material changes affecting processing of personal data.
- ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Your personal data may be stored in India or processed using secure infrastructure located in India or outside India. We implement reasonable safeguards to protect your information.
- We may transfer personal data outside India to affiliates, cloud providers, or service providers for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. Such transfers will be carried out in compliance with Applicable Law, including restrictions or conditions notified by the Government of India under the DPDP Act.
- Users who view your content may copy or save it outside the Platform. The Platform is not responsible for such copied content.
- LIMITATIONS ON LIABILITY
To the maximum extent permitted under Applicable Law, the Platform shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, punitive, or special damages, including loss of profits, loss of data, loss of goodwill, reputational harm, or business interruption arising from your use of the Platform. The Platform shall not be responsible for:
- User Content posted or shared by Users,
- actions of other Users including harassment, fraud, impersonation, or unauthorized sharing of content,

- GOVERNING LAW
This Privacy Policy shall be governed by and enforced in accordance with the laws of India. You irrevocably consent to the jurisdiction of the courts of New Delhi for any disputes arising out of this Privacy Policy or use of the Platform.
